Video of The Plaza's Christmas Lighting

This last weekend, Thanksgiving weekend, was a busy one for me. I'm not really a push, shop or travel 'til I drop kind of guy. But this last weekend was an exception. It had to be.
My wife and I had Thanksgiving Dinner in an unusual place for, at least for us, in Kansas City MO. It was along the river -- some of you know where I'm talking about. The buffet was better than average.
But one of the more memorable parts was experiencing the 80th Annual "Holiday", please read, CHRISTMAS lighting at the Country Club Plaza, just 3 miles South of Downtown KC. It was memorable, inspiring and fun! It was a sight to see 10's of thousands of people gathering to see and experience Holiday Songs performed by a large youth choir, a fireworks display, live filming of Kansas City TV Station Channel 5 and the "flip of the Christmas light switch" that lit up the business district.
Some businesses were closed, but the ones that were open were packed: The Brazilian Steak House was full and the Latte' Shop had a line a half a block long. The rooms at the InterContinental went for $400 and they also were full!
So what did I take home from The Plaza's 80th Annual Christmas Lighting Event? People with VISION and PERSISTENCE coupled with an adaptability can make something happen. They might not reap the full harvest but their children and grandchildren will.
We hurried home to Washington for the Friday night Festivities. I'm processing the Videos and Photos of the Rotary Auction and the Chamber's Christmas Around the Square. I'll post them in a couple of days.
Merry Christmas,
Brian
